Kindergarten - Science

In Kindergarten your child will learn about:

  • Plant and animal needs
  • Weather and weather patterns
  • Sunlight and warmth Pushes and pulls (force and motion)
  • Technology and society
  • Fields of science

 In Kindergarten, your child will:

  • Use a model to represent a relationship
  • Ask questions to obtain information
  • Use and make observations
  • Communicate solutions
  • Construct an argument supported by evidence
  • Plan and conduct an investigation to compare effects
  • Analyze data to determine if a design solution works
  • Use tools and materials to design and build

Kindergarten students explore science topics in print and digital resources.  They construct meaning and apply learning with hands-on materials.  The three main resources used in elementary science classrooms include Mystery Science, Generation Genius, and Pebble Go.

Mystery Science resources serve as the primary framework for elementary science classroom and establish an inquiry-based approach to science and STEM learning.
