My name is Christine Bryan and I am the school counselor at the Kindergarten Academy.    Before becoming the school counselor  I was a special education teacher for 14 years.   While this is a new role for me this year,  I am not new to Interboro. I have spent half of my teaching career in the Interboro School District. I love working with the Interboro community and especially with our youngest students and families. 

I will be involved with our students in a variety of ways. One aspect of my job is to provide individual and group counseling. I will also be providing classroom lessons on social skills to all students at different points throughout the year.  Throughout these classroom lessons, we will be talking about a variety of topics including, character and career education, good citizenship and bullying, just to name a few.  I will also be very involved with our school-wide positive behavior support system. This is a wonderful program that gets the students excited about being “Respectful, Responsible and Safe” at the KA!

In addition to these aspects of my job as a school counselor, I also coordinate our school's Student Assistance Program (SAP) and I am a member of our Child Study team.  I truly believe that working with our youngest students is a great privilege. I hope that working in conjunction with our teachers and families, I am able to help contribute to a successful future in education, careers and global citizenship for our kindergarteners.
