    Prospect Park Library

     

    Mission Statement: 

    The objective of the Prospect Park Library is to establish and maintain a free library in order to improve and enrich the lives of the residents of the borough of Prospect Park and the neighboring communities in Delaware County Pennsylvania through information, education, and recreation.  The library values the citizens of Prospect Park and responds to their needs by providing a clean and inviting library space, well-organized and up-to-date collections, friendly professional service and well-trained staff who are committed to the library's vision of "Keeping Our Children Reading".

     

    Description:

    Support early learning and the joy of reading through our collections and resources, services, and programs such as Story Time and Science in the Summer.

    Enhance technology to provide increased access to materials, information, services, and interactive experiences to ensure that knowledge and information will be equitably available to all.

    Engage with our communities through outreach and programming that connect the library with patrons in meaningful ways.

    Step by Step Learning Center and Child Care

     

    Description: 

    Step by Step has been serving the Delaware County community for more than 15 years. We offer Childcare services as well as a Before and After care program for school aged children. In the summer, when school is out, Step By Step Learning Centers offers a fun filled Summer Camp Program.  We offer Child Care services to all families with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. 

     

    Requirements:

    Students must be able to work with children from one year to school age children

    Students must be willing to change diapers, wipe noses, wash hands and faces

    Students may be asked to attend field trips with the children and must act in a professional manner when out of the building

    Students must interact with the children in a kind, nurturing manner and be able to be professional when interacting with fellow teachers and parents

    Students will be asked to implement lesson plans provided by the teacher and will eventually be asked to provide lessons of their own

    All internship participants must complete all required paperwork including but not limited to Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Check, FBI Fingerprinting and a physical completed by a doctor

    Government/Local Administration 


    The Borough of Prospect Park

     

    Description:

    The job description would be to shadow office staff in an active government work environment. Our office staff consists of a Borough of Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Administrative Clerk and Code Enforcement Officer. The intern will be doing a wide variety of administrative duties. The goal of the Borough of Prospect Park is to efficiently manage the operation of local government, while at the same time, maintain the excellent reputation of Prospect Park as a family-oriented community, with good neighbors with clean and safe streets.

     

    Requirements:

    Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel computer programs (is a plus)

    Casual dress code (no shorts)

     

    Age: 14 years and up

    Description: 

    The job description would be to shadow borough staff and officials in an active government work environment. The intern will be doing a wide variety of administrative duties.     Raffaele Puppio

     

    Description:

     Raffaele Puppio is a 13 attorney law firm located in Media, Delaware County. Our practice areas are diverse and include Family Law, Education, Employment, Contract, Municipal/Tax, Personal Injury, Workers’ Compensation and Wills/Estates/Trusts. Our clients include not only individuals but also local and state agencies. The internship will provide experience in general office functions, and for a student interested in the legal field – including the positions of attorney, paralegal, and legal assistant, a deeper dive into more specific legal tasks and functions. Students will be expected to maintain the confidentiality of client information, dress in a neat and professional manner, and be able to interact in a positive manner with clients and others.

    Mission Statement: 

    The Interboro Athletic Department’s philosophy is that the student athlete’s pursuits on the field should be equally measured with those off of it.  To that end, an Interboro athlete should pursue personal growth through academic work, team experiences, and as an ambassador of our district.     Description: 

    The community theater that was born in the 1940s and restored in 1964. We have worked hard to bring you the best in community theatre entertainment, and we hope you get as much out of viewing our shows as we do in performing them for you.

    Technology is an integral element of educating our students in the 21st Century. The goal of the Interboro Technology Department is to support technology for staff development, curriculum development, helpdesk support, purchasing, infrastructure, information systems, email, networking, web, communications and network security.

     

    In addition, the department supports professional development and assists teachers in integrating technology into the classroom. The department is dedicated to supporting the district vision of student learning through the integration of technology, to create a safe environment for the educational growth for our students in Interboro School District.

    We are seeking an intern to support general administrative functions at a public not-for-profit charitable organization. This intern will help with filing, organizing, data entry, online research, and social media content creation. Applicants should have strong organizational skills, strong writing skills, and the desire to learn about the work of not-for-profit organizations.
