Dr. Valerie A. Eckman
Dir. of Curriculum & Instruction
Dr. Valerie Eckman is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Interboro School District. Valerie started teaching Social Studies at the Interboro High School in 2004. During her tenure at the High School, she served as the Advanced Placement European History teacher, sponsor of various co-curricular activities, and Assistant Principal. Dr. Eckman joined the Curriculum and Instruction team in 2013, proud to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure developmentally appropriate, effective teaching and learning practices and the availability of research-based, relevant materials for all District students. Dr. Eckman oversees the District’s Federal Programs and PreK Counts grants. Her current areas of focus include the implementation of a new K-5 Social Studies curriculum, college and career readiness, and the addition of a fourth PreK classroom at the Kindergarten and Early Learning Academy.

Mr. Eric Paterson
Supervisor of Literacy PreK-12
Eric Paterson is the Supervisor of Literacy for the Interboro School District. Mr. Paterson’s instructional experiences include teaching grades three, four, and six, as well as emotional support within the grade bands of 3-5 and 6-8. Mr. Paterson served as a Middle School and High School Reading Specialist for seven years within Interboro. Administratively, he has also served as the Assistant Principal at Glenolden during his time in Interboro. In his position as Supervisor of Literacy, Mr. Paterson supervises all aspects of literacy across the district, supporting both regular and special education populations of students and teachers. He is currently focused on overseeing the piloting of two elementary reading programs (Into Reading and Benchmark Advance), in addition to managing the final year of the Journey’s core reading program (K-2). Mr. Paterson also supports the infusion of the Orton Gillingham (OG) framework of phonetic-based instruction in all K-2 ELA classrooms, the advancement of year two of the district’s core Middle School ELA curriculum and reviewing/inventorying our current HS English curriculum.

Mr. Jonathan Regino
Supervisor of Math PreK-12
Jonathan Regino is a highly accomplished educator with a diverse range of experiences in the field of education. Beginning as a middle school math and science teacher in Pennsylvania, he quickly established himself as a dedicated and passionate educator. Transitioning from the classroom, Jonathan became a Teaching and Learning Specialist at the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, providing invaluable support to educators and enhancing teaching practices. As an Educational Consultant with Pennsylvania Training and technical Assistance Network, he developed strategies for students with special needs. Jonathan's work as a facilitator and program manager for Code.org in Eastern PA showcased his commitment to innovative learning experiences and computer science education. Currently, as the Supervisor of Math at the Interboro School District, Jonathan drives positive change and enhances student outcomes through his leadership and comprehensive understanding of curriculum development.

Mr. Kyle Willis
Supervisor of STEM
Kyle Willis is the Supervisor of STEM for the Interboro School District. Kyle started his career in education as a Middle School Science teacher before quickly adding the responsibilities of Department Chair and later School Data Manager. Prior to starting his career in education, Kyle worked as an Environmental Scientist working on and supervising environmental clean-up sites in New Jersey. Currently, Kyle’s focus is on Interboro School District’s transition to the new STEELS standards and enhancing student outcomes and opportunities in STEM learning.
