The PreK-12 counseling programs helps parents to engage in comprehensive consideration of post-secondary pathways and connects families with community resources that support the whole child. Parents inform the program by participating in feedback surveys. Parent representatives present their experiences in stakeholder forums.
Businesses
Interboro’s business partners support the PreK-12 school counseling team by providing insight into the current career landscape and feedback on non-technical and technical skills needed in today’s workforce. Business partners help academic teams to shape graduation pathways and course development. They frequently present at District professional development and community events and provide opportunities for students to engage in pre-career experiences. Businesses benefit from a more well-prepared labor force.
Community
The counseling team collaborates with community partners to support the development of the whole child. Community agencies provide critical personal social resources and services for students and their families. Partners offer opportunities for students to explore post-secondary pathways and contribute to the community through service learning. Partners benefit from programming by receiving students who have developed interpersonal skills and understand the importance of civic engagement.
Post Secondary
Post-secondary partners contribute to the PreK-12 school counseling program by collaborating to prepare students for post-secondary success. Through events like career days, college fairs, and on-site visits, post-secondary partners network with students, parents, and educators to provide insight into higher education pathways that support career success. Partners offer opportunities for students to engage in dual credit coursework to earn post-secondary credits while in high school. Post-secondary institutions benefit from prepared high school graduates with an interest in their programming.
